Singapore: Singapore

We checked into our hostel about 2pm then took the metro to Marina Bay.

After walking around the financial district and seeing the Helix bridge and the Gardens by the Bay, we stopped at Marina Bay Sands Hotel and went up to the Skybar to have a cocktail - very expensive but very nice! This hotel is made up of three towers with a boat-like structure propped across the top.

We also saw the art and science museum; another interesting building designed to look like a flower (although we didn't go inside) and wandered through a very high-end shopping mall.

That evening we ate at a restaurant overlooking the bay - a gorgeous view but our most expensive meal yet, despite the free beers we were given!

The next day we visited Universal Studios Singapore which was amazing! We managed to do pretty much every ride (except a couple meant for younger children, but we still went on most of them!) including the main attractions such as Revenge of the Mummy, Transformers the ride and Battlestar Galactica (both teams). We also saw Donkey Live in Hook’s Knight Club and watched a short film in Shrek's 4D Adventure.

We went back to the hostel via Marina Bay again so we could see the bay lit up at night, and also look at the lights festival there - an art exhibition of environmentally friendly pieces. We were in time to see a fountain light show too.

It's been an incredible (and very expensive!) couple of days but we both loved Singapore and how clean and spacious is is for a city. In the morning we have a flight to Indonesia, our last country in Asia!
