Two trains, two buses and a short walk later, we were checked into our guesthouse in a room with a window (for the first time all week!) and a view over the river. As we only had one afternoon here, we spent a couple of hours walking around the town and park area, where there were several museums and historical sights. We climbed up to the ruins of St. Paul's church, which had good views across Melaka. After this, we took an Uber a few miles out of town to visit the Huskitory, a husky dog centre where you can play with the dogs, learn more about the breed and see the show ribbons many of the dogs have won over the years. There were 14 huskies of various colourings, as well as one white Pomeranian.

Once we'd had our dog fix, we headed back into Melaka town and visited the weekend market. This was huge! We filled up on many of the street foods and drinks before heading back to the guesthouse to pack for our 8am bus to Singapore.

Accommodation: The Lucky House Cardamon, 1 night, 70 RM for a double room with river view. This was a nice guesthouse, although really difficult to find! There was just a small house number outside the door and a faded piece of paper taped to the door with the guesthouse name on. The room was spacious but there was no atmosphere here at all, and we only saw a member of staff once when we first checked in. 6/10.
