Day 12:
We spent day 12 in Kandy. After breakfast we had a slow day for the first time since getting to Sri Lanka. It was raining outside so we chilled out in the hostel hoping for the rain to stop before putting on our coats and heading out into Kandy and around the lake.

Half way around the lake we stopped for lunch at Citrus Cafe - they offered us free WiFi and as it was still raining outside we had another drink each and waited for the rain to stop.
The coats went back on and we strolled around the second half of the lake, then headed back to the hostel to dry off a little before going back to Tandoori Point for dinner. We went for slightly less spicy options, but they were still quite hot!
Day 13:
Inspired by yesterday we had another slow start; packing up after breakfast in time to get some take away lunch from a cafe on the way to the bus stop. First we had to catch a bus to Dambula, then change to another bus to Sigiriya. The two journeys took about 3 hours in total so by the time we found our accommodation, which was a ‘lake side tent house’, it was early evening.

We had a shower then were served up a very well-presented rice and curry and fresh fruit for dessert.
