Casa Lanka private room inc. breakfast totted up to 3200rs, there was no A/C and the ceiling fan wasn’t very effective so our room was a bit stuffy but other than that the place was good. We had a breakfast of scrambled eggs, toast and marmalade, tea and fresh mixed fruit juice.

We then headed up the road to Hikkaduwa bus stand and got a bus to Galle for 50rs each for the 20min ride.

Lunch at the Pilgrim Hostel (980rs) was a fruit platter, rice and curry and a water. Where we also checked in and dropped off our bags for tonight. We spoke to Nadia (who checked us in and showed us our beds) and she recommended a walk over to ‘Jungle beach’. So that’s where we set off to.

We met a kind man on the way who spoke to us about the local market where he was on his way to to buy vegetables and spices, before his shift in the light house at 7pm tonight.

After ~4.5km we passed Sahana beach where we stopped and rented 2 surf boards for an hour for 500rs. Maybe we’ll do ‘jungle beach’ tomorrow..

After our surf we got a tuk tuk back to Galle Fort (200rs), watched the sunset from the walls then had a shower then headed around the corned for a stone baked pizza each and some water (1950rs).
